This evening it will be my pleasure to introduce the first of two new members to the All Eternals Collective. KPierre (he/they) is an AfroAbsurdist whose story began on a military base in Germany. He came to the United States when he was seven years old and grew up in a small town in Mississippi. After studying Philosophy in college, he moved to New York and began his career as a professional artist in 2015.
One of his major inspirations is the work of Salvador Dali, arguably the most famous surrealist artist to ever live. KPierre realized that “Black identity and the articulation of morality within that framework is limited.” studying philosophy in college allowed him to dive deeper into these subjects. They were also inspired by their upbringing and environments where they grew up. “When you come from a background that is two vastly different cultures, it’s that much harder to find where you consider to be home base, and you get to experience it differently based off the environment you cultivated for yourself.”
KPierre describes their process as “radical yet precise and has much thought behind it. [He] usually finds balance by keeping things as minimal as possible with a strong midpoint”. He is a master of many mediums and art forms, including painting, writing, fashion, and photography. “Mixed media is a representation of life to him and his artwork connects all mediums to convey a message. His work includes mostly disfigurement of faces and has political undertones.”
As an All Eternals member, they “want to be a contributing factor in advancing the collective so it’s able to grow. I want to be an outlet for the group and a catalyst for progress.” He is just starting his journey with us, but will no doubt be a crucial piece of our puzzle for success and I am happy to welcome him aboard.
