There’s a bigness in me
The kind that feels like the whole of the universe
All its celestial bodies
Crushing into this heart of flesh
I am heavy with the weight of so much marvel in the world
Of all my potential yet to unfurl
Of all that will remain untapped
The beauty of this existence shines like pain
The anguish sparkles like gems
I breathe around the spaces where the light gets in
Each tiny bubble breaking the barrier is a gasp against drowning in this majestic madness
I’m not certain I am of this world
The magnitude of what cannot be expressed seems wasted in this finite vessel
For surely stars would explode at the full force of me
The swelling pressure that longs for connection spills and swirls
Pushing at the backs of my eyelids
Flooding my soul with aching sighs
My inspiration calls from the deepest recesses
Buried engines of lost civilizations thrumming to life under the ruins of all that’s come before
It shudders and stirs
Shifting the sands of the real to reveal a hint of sonic supernova
The crashing waves of all conceivable feeling and thought, every parallel path as it forks into a reality all its own, the prismatic spectrum of emotion, words words words words words words.
This is the hum, the din, the roar, the screaming buzz of every past, present, future
Colliding in fits of fists inside this strained shell
This is the rush of Purusha and Prakriti, the thrum of creation and destruction
This is the breath of the me that exists beyond my temporary skin
And I don’t know if I can bear it
Or if it will sink me into the surface like so many lifetimes before
I forge stronger bones and sinews as I carve out new release valves
Lest this stone inside my chest expand and pull me over another rocky ledge
I blink back the ocean, blinded by the beauty on this edge
Every blood cell sings inside my veins as I ease a toe onto the tightrope
Eyes attuned to the patterns of all things, I may never know unbearable lightness
Save these few sweet moments when the cacophony coalesces and erupts from me a symphony
